Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how UnderwritRE (“the Platform,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit www.underwritre.com or use the UnderwritRE application at app.underwritre.com. It supplements our Terms of Use. By using the Platform, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and login credentials. If you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information (name and email) from Google. Authentication is handled by our identity provider, Auth0.

Deal and model inputs. The Platform stores the property details, financial assumptions, and other inputs you provide to build models, along with the outputs generated from them. You retain ownership of your input data and models; we process them only to operate the service, consistent with our Terms of Use.

Payment information. Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe, our payment processor. We do not store your full card number; Stripe provides us with limited billing details (such as subscription status and the last four digits of your card).

Usage and log data. We collect standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and actions taken in the application, used for security, troubleshooting, and improving the Platform.

Communications. If you contact us (for example, by email or through feedback forms), we keep a record of that correspondence.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to: provide, operate, and maintain the Platform; process payments and manage subscriptions; respond to support requests; secure the Platform and prevent misuse; understand usage so we can improve features; and send service-related communications. With your consent or as otherwise permitted, we may send product updates; you can opt out at any time.

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:

  • Service providers that help us operate the Platform — including Auth0 (authentication), Google Cloud Platform (hosting and storage), Stripe (payments), and Squarespace (marketing-site hosting and analytics) — each only as needed to perform their services;
  • Professional advisers and authorities where required by law, regulation, or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of UnderwritRE or others;
  • A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this Policy will continue to apply to your information.

4. Data Ownership and Retention

You retain ownership of the data and models you create on the Platform. We retain your account information and model data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 6). We may retain limited information as required for legal, accounting, or security purposes.

5. Security

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Choices and Rights

You may access and update your account information in the application. You may request a copy of your data, or deletion of your account and data, by emailing support@underwritre.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws (such as the right to know, correct, or delete personal information); we will honor valid requests as required by law.

7. Cookies and Analytics

The Platform uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the service to function (for example, keeping you signed in). Our marketing site uses Squarespace’s built-in analytics to understand site traffic. We do not use cross-site advertising trackers.

8. Children

The Platform is a business tool and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of those changes.
